Performance Loads in Everyday Items

Bookmarks

Previous to the invention of bookmarks, users would have to memorize sites they wished to visit again though cognition making the performance load high. Now, however, with bookmarks, people no longer need to memorise sites. This is an example of reduction in cognitive load

 

Search Bars

Search-field-with-green-button.jpgWithout search bars in websites, the user would have to go through each tab or page within the site to reach the page or subject they were looking for. The search bar eliminates these steps, allowing for direct access to the desired subject and hence is an example in the reduction of Kinematic Load

Siri

Much like the search bar, Siri allows for direct access to the desired place in your phone, whether it be a music player, app or website. Siri also eliminates the steps to search the web for a specific fact, producing direct quotes and facts with a simple question. This is an example of reducing the Kinematic Loadsiri-hp-orig
